Travelling in Croatia!

July 12, 2017

After the week from heaven, spent travelling around Croatia with my lovely boyfriend I wanted to share some of our favourite spots! Our Hotel was in Baska Voda, possibly one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed….

We went to a lotttt of the bars along the front and even walked north along the beach to Brela but our favourite by a long was the bar at the Brela end on the beach. It has lanterns, deck chairs, live music and Hugo’s for 28kuna, what else do you need in life?

From there we ventured out on the local bus to Makarska which took around 20 minutes and cost literally £2. The port was really cute and it had a lovely beach where you can walk along the coastal walk/climb to take great pictures of the town.

After learning how to use the local buses we decided to venture a bit further (an hour bus journey) to Split. We really tried to look around but I’m not gonna lie, in 34 degree heat we got fed up and hot and after a couple of hours decided to pack it in and get a beer (5ooml for £2 how could you turn it down?). The cathedral was great to walk around but I would advise doing this when its not so hot haha.

This is where we started to get super adventurous. We booked a trip to Krka national park. The bus went via Sibenik which was a cool little town with a famous cathedral and a great little food place at the bus station that is run by a lovely lady:

If you are ever in Croatia seriously the National Park is the place to go! You get loads of Instagram worthy photo’s that don’t even need filters because the place is stunning. So stunning I want to go back already, I could have spent the entire week in the park. Here are some examples of some (not so good) photos taken by us:

Finally the last trip of the week we managed to fit in was… white water rafting! For £25 we spent 2.5 hours paddling down the Cetina River in a boat, down rapids, crashing into rocks and generally getting soaked. We stopped at a rock, that Alex (boyfriend) climbed and jumped off. Sadly there are no photos of this because I was not risking my phone dying, sorry guys but we do have a survivors photo!!

That’s all we managed to fit in a week but theres plenty still to visit.. Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Blue lagoon, Hvar, Brac, and many more. GO VISIT.
